got back from the body shop....
Hey guys I got back from the body shop for my rear aero bumper paint & install. The color matches perfectly but, on the edges (Far corners next to wheel wells) it looks like it wasn’t maybe painted correctly (only about 2 or 3 inches on each side).... there are like little holes/Dots in the paint… maybe they sprayed too much or too little paint..? what is it caused from? I can’t take pictures right now because it's night time. But they told me to bring it in tomorrow so they can look at it. When this usually happens is it a quick fix or do they usually need to paint the whole bumper again? it's weird that they offer a lifetime warranty when they can't even paint it correctly the first time.
camera phone pic & at night so not too clear...... it has it on both sides too you can kind of see it... also it has it going around the edges on the bottom.. UPDATE: he said to wait a week for the paint to completely "settle" on the vehicle & to see if there are any other defects... He said then to bring it back & they will buff it out, He said if it can't be buffed out they will redo those parts (I don’t think it can be buffed out)... uggh what a hassle! I will keep you guys updated & hopefully have pics of the finished product Last edited by NateSD; 05-01-2009 at 10:39 PM.. Reason: update |

take it back and tell them to do it again. you paid them to do it right, but they did not deliver. they will most likely have to re-paint the whole thing to get it right.
what body shop, btw? oh, and mandatory

Hard to tell from the pic, but looks like the paint fish eyed a bit, which means the paint reacted with something - can't tell from the pic if it is the base or clear but the surface was contaminate with something oily and then didn't adhere properly.
Get it done again, that is unaccebtable, even if it was painted in someones garage!

Oh yeah I got a better description... It looks like the paint has inward goose bumps(only certain areas & other parts look flawless) |
