Drove BMW 335i!!
Hey Guys,
Just thought I would report on the 335i after I drove it this evening. I was at the local dealership and they had a space grey on black 6 speed out front with sport pack and optional 19's! First off I need to say that my daily driver is a 330ci M sport Cab and my weekend ride is an 05 Vette, and even after having the vette this new 3 coupe feels FAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Car has v8 like torque...gobs of it at pretty much any rpm or speed. No tubro whistle at all. Exhaust sounds like a G35 coupe, but lower which I have always loved. With the optional 19's the car is a little more rough on uneven roads, but I was surprised that my vette with the z51 sport pack doesn't feel that much more rough. This car has a lot of potential with the forced induction and I will seriously think about ditching both cars for ONE of these coupes......as long as I can easily make it 400hp plus thanks to Dinan or someone of the like......Anyways just thought I would shoot a quick message for those who are wondering. Car and Driver has some sweet numbers on this car and it feels everybit as powerful as they say it is. |

I don't find the vette a chore to drive at all. I think aside from the low hieght making it awkward to get in and out of in a suit, I could drive it every day but thats just my opinion.
The 335i felt a little heavier on its feet than me Cab. I think it may just be small sidewalls on the 19's that are just a little stiffer and take less of the impacts (logically!). It handled really well in the corners when I got on it, a good set of M roll bars when they come out should tame some of that body rolll (The vette has none). I was sitting there today reving the thing and the only time you can hear the turbos is on the run down of the engine from about 4500 to about 2000; there is a FAINT whistle....I would likely change that if I got one since what is the point of having a turbo if you cant here a nice SWOOOSH....All in all I think BMW has made a great car here, and the design lines are much more appealing in real life. (test drive at budds..) |

Any chance I could plead with one of you guys that has a 335i coupe being delivered soon to post a video w/ sound of the exhaust note?
I'm intrigued now (who am I kidding... I wanted one from the moment I heard it was coming out). A buddy of mine has a G35 Sport Coupe 6MT and it sounds like nothing else on the road. You hear one down the street and you know either a G35 Coupe or a 350z is coming. |
