It all started from a stone chip 2 years ago, got windshield replaced then....and its never been the same again! Poor quality workmanship is to be blame...now the windshield is loose, sounds like its ready to pop out on turns. It's been 5 times the windshield been replaced...and now gonna be the 6th! Did replacement at smaller independent shops...and last 2 times at a "Safelite". Going back to "Safelite" because they were ok last time, hoping their warranty covers it.

... and this is why I'm just leaving my little rock chip there, not replacing my windshield unless it spiderwebs.
Sorry to hear it.

You are absolutely right! I wish I did the same. At this point I'm ready to get a new BMW...so, someone else will inherit this "windshield problem". Think again before buying a used or pre-owned car.

no, never been in accident, just bad glue-seal, whatever they use, eventualy it gives crack... have to go to dealer to do it, but expensive, and dealers dont like replacing windshields, too much work if done to BMW specs. How about replacing windshiled at dealer, paying $1800 for it, just to get another stone chip a week later? Or, in other words, everytime a stone chip, to pay $1800 for replacement winshiled? Insurance doesnt cover dealers windshield replacement.

That sucks man. Hope it gets fixed for good this time. But how did you get a quote of $1,800 from the dealership??? I recently got my windshield replaced and although I did not use the dealer, they only quoted me $800 total for parts and labor.
