For 335d owners, regarding the diesel particular filter
I got my diesel particular filter replaced by the dealer due to the recall. I noticed that my turbos are louder than before ( I can clearly hear the hiss and pitchy sounds in the parking garage) and I noticed some fuel smell coming through into the cabin and outside the engine area. I can even smell it with the hood closed. The particular filter is next to the turbos, to the left of the engine (looking from the front).
Anyone else noticing the fuel smell (not sure if its diesel fumes or exhaust) or louder turbos? I have also read this thread: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=115735 but not sure if its the same smell they are referring to, I have already driven close to 70 miles since I picked up the car yesterday. |

Must not be a recall for all 2009 335d cars. I just called my service department. They looked up my VIN and said that there wasn't a recall on that car. Given the issue you described, I'm glad to hear I'm not affected.

I guess there are only 400 cars that are affected by this. What will happen if you do not change the filter?
