Do you regret not getting the xenons when you bought the car?

Of course we were right.

Lesson learned.

At least you got your money back and didn't end up getting scammed, look at it that way.

this should be a sticky so that all the new members who always ask if they should buy ebay headlamps can see that it is not worth it..

I didn't know anyone would want a 3 series without xenons...

That's one of the reasons why I want the car, I've never had a vehicle with decent headlights.

My came with pretty much everything except xenons. It is damn near impossible to get a 328i E90 with xenons in the US, unless you custom order your car. Converting from halogen to xenon is a breeze, provided you have all the correct components. Hardest part is taking off the bumper.

A OEM BMW XENON HOUSING IS A MUST!!!!!!!

I actually just ordered my 2010 BMW 328xi without xenons. Can anyone give us a side by side comparison on how the xenons look compared to the Halogens? I never realized there would be much difference, but my car was getting pretty expensive with all the options and didn't think $800 was worth it for xenon's.......my current Infiniti has them so maybe I took it for granted?

How much are factory xenons from like a junkyard or salvage yard? I bet you would probably find them pretty cheap.

At first I didn't care but after about a year of driving I came to a conclusion that not only do they make the car look like shit from the front, they also can't illuminate a damn thing. The difference between the two is night and day. I would not buy another BMW without them, then again my next Bimmer won't be a 328i anyway.

The lights are only half of what you need though. you also need the ballasts and some wiring modifications.

If you get the Canbus ballasts you wont need any mods. They are comletly plug-n-play with the DS1 bulbs. If by chance you get an error then all you need to do is hook up a pair of BMW error cancelors to them.

Over the course of a loan, what is that, $12 more a month, it's much easier to just pony up than retrofit later. Another cautionary tale.

I'd select almost any SUB $1000 option available...except for that damn smartphone.

True.

A retrofit will costs you well over $,1000. Headlight alone range between $800-$1500, depending on the type and the seller. Then you have to add the price of the ballasts and bulbs to the equation.

Only manual I could find didn't have em but oh well not a big issue with me. My lights do their job well. Now if xenons added 20hp or something then I would care.

If you were counting Lumens it would be significant, but since HP is all you care about, drive on and save you allowance up for that speed chip....
