Wow, I'm getting consistently 650km a tank of mixed city and highway driving. All highway is usually upwards of 750km a tank.
I guess I really drive like an old lady!

How many kilometers do I drive on one tank? None.
How many kilometres (spelled correctly) do I drive on one tank? About 500 in the city.

Slightly off topic but... once the refuel light goes off and bongs... How many liters are left?
The reason I ask is sometimes it was say 120 kms left to drive before your out of gas... but then 20kms later, it will read 50 kms. And I only drove like 30kms! Albiet at Warp 5 (160kph-ish). Still... I would like to know how many liters are left when the light first goes on. And how many luters left when it goes off the 2nd time. ??? Maybe I would dog out the owners manual! lol |

how low are you guys letting the gas go before filling up?
I've seen 300kms on the highway by the time i hit half a tank. mind you i find with the turbo, the most economical driving is with the cruise control. where with an N/A engine i find just using the foot is better on gas. I think a lot of it has to do with your shift points. I'll be in the city at 65kph in 5th gear. I turn off my piggy back when i know i'm going to be on the highway, makes a difference, and if i don't feel like stopping often, i cycle the air conditioning on and off, i figure it's good for about .5 to .7 of a liter per 100kms, which adds up considerably. Like 7.2 l/100kms on the highway in a 300+ hp car is awesome. sorry, i should warn you guys, i do ramble on. EDIT: was just reading about not revving Direct Injection engines too low as low revs allow for buildup of soot in intake valves. so it looks like 4th gear will be just fine for me in the city. Getting about 490 Kilometres per tank driving granny style, 70% city/30% highway with couple of WOTS, and more like 400Km/tank when a bit more agressive. Shell V-Power, 22,000Km.

I drive a 2012 128i with 2000 km showing on the odometer
Driving mix 85% city 15% highway Because I fill up just after the needle passes 1/4 tank left I estimate the distance on one full tank based on the 53 liter fuel capacity 11.5 l/100 km driving as fast as traffic lets me - estimate 460 km per tank 10.0 l/100 km old man driving - estimate 530 km per tank So far I've driven with A/C on all the time and climate control on auto

On my 2011 135(n55) with jb4, city 450-500 normal driving, 400 is stepping on it all the time. Highway is 700-750 with ac on and speed at 120-130km/h
Did a trip from TO to Key West, Fl this summer and could not believe it myself. Highway this thing is amazing... Sniffs on fuel... |

my 08 128i. I'll round up and say 15,000KMs on it (cabrio). I do mostly city driving, I fill once I get to 1/4 tank and only usually fill at shell w/ 91-octane v-power. either way its either 91 or 94 at petro, never mid or low grade.
Now, I'll get down to a 1/4 and I'll be at about 300-330KMs and I don't drive it hard (not all the time at least ). onboard estimates I should get 570KM/s per tank which is bullshit |
