Kidney grill discoloration
Been noticing a haze on the kidney grill starting to develop. Looks like overspray. It's in just a few spaces and kind of like it flowed from under the hood. Wonder if heat flowing from under hood discolored it? Any one else seen this?

Overspray would not develop. The grilles are inexpensive to replace (relative to other parts). I would just get the factory black ones for $100/pair.

pictures would help if you wanted to give others a better idea of whats happening but either way they aren't very expensive to replace so it shouldn't be too bad.

Go with some black ones.

It's the factory grill. Doesn't photograph well. It's showing up on the other grill also.
Wow, just saw it after submitting. Really doesn't show well. It's on the top of the grill in the center of the pic. Looks like a haze. |

I say go for the black one's, looks sleeker, chrome is overrated, looks tacky, and fake chrome i.e. plastic painted with chrome is well just terrible. The 335is grilles are sick, black surround with chrome inserts. The black rim makes the chrome inserts look like a dark chrome or black so you have to take a close look to see that they are chrome, at first they look all black.

Try Meguiar's All Metal Polysh - I've tried it on chrome trim on an 11-year old car that had water stains and scratches. It restored to like new.
I've also used it on my x-drive side emblems when the car was new since it had stains when it was delivered - again, it worked. The instructions are on the tub. Good luck! |

Careful here. The stuff on BMW is chrome plated plastic that doesn't play well with abrasive metal polishes. |

Painted grille surrounds with black grille blades is another option...
