Been looking at getting this brace as a pre-cursor to get the Ohlins R&T coilovers but I noticed something with your pictures in the OP. The three nuts holding the upper strut plate to the tower only have a few threads engaged. That is not a good thing when lock nuts are used.

Is there a fix for this?

On the tower ring side BMW long reach nuts are used. The nuts are grabbing at least another 5mm of threads below the tower rings.

Is modification needed for 2010 models? I did see the photos with pre-2011 N54, but was concerned whether or not the 2010 models needed modification to #13 for installation.

Any added benefit, in addition to front control arms and stiffer anti-roll bar, besides added driver control.

Older models may not need to modification, but that is not always the case.

You will get a better steering response from the added stiffness of the front-end. Feed back from the tires will also be better. And if you happen to run adjustable dampers, you can get to your adjustments much easier.
