Underwhelmed by E92 M-Sport
Is it just me, or is the E92 M-Sport package a little tame?
I suppose I was expecting something a bit more radical - but these pictures leave me somewhat disappointed. Maybe it's because they're of a 320d - is that why it doesn't appear to have "staggered" wheels?

Yeah, I'd agree woth that. Still looks great but what does the SE look like.
Maybe not special enough or not willing to upset future M3 owners

The car on the pics could have been a 335 and it would have looked the same from the front angle (just bigger brakes and chrome grill).
And the wheel are staggered.

It looks boring. Aero front and other aftermarket kits look way better and cost less.

My view with both the E90 and E92 are the wheels and tyres make the biggest visual difference. You put the 320d on 19's with 255's at the rear and it will look so much sportier. The 320d above I agree looks unflattering. I think it also need to be lowered, there's too much space in the wheel arch. I lowered car looks so much sportier

Hmmmm... yes I agree. I think the arches are fairly roomy on the E90/E92 that you need at least 18's to fill them. Personally speaking, I wouldn't have those 15 spoke wheels that come with the M-sport models... they would take about 3 hours to clean.... per wheel!

For some reason the 193's are much, MUCH easier to clean than the 103's I had on my Z4.

I'm sure its in this weeks autoexpress, but they reckon pointing a pressure washer against the tyre wall can destroy it in as little as 5 secs (small holes appear in the tyre wall).

The M-kit needs 19" and the dual exhaust from the 335i/d

Could have been worses, it could have been designed by Chris Bangle and have a tea tray on the back like the 6

And having actually cut the tip off of my finger with a PW once I'd NEVER aim one at anything like a tyre, door seal etc. Anyway, back OT... do you think the M-Sport kit on the coupe looks a little tame so that whe it does come the M3 looks like an absolute monster?

It looks really nice and clean to me. It's much better than the aero-kit, and I do prefer it over the standard bumpers.
Now my last question is answered. I definitely have to have the M-sport kit. |

I think I actually prefer the look of the 18" 189 style wheels, which is just as well because that's what I've got on my car, and the 19" 230's look wicked too. I was quite worried that when the M-Sport came out, I was going to wish I'd waited, but actually I'm quite pleased with my 335d SE - no expensive bodykit upgrade required (phew). Don't the M-Sport models all come with M-Sport lowered and stiffened suspension?

It's certainly subtle, but then when the basic model looks that good you have to be careful not to spoil it.
