Jb3 back to stock = HELL!

So I was getting some really bad mileage (10-12MPG) on map 5 so I thought I would try a tank on map 0 to see if it changes things.

HOLY COW! My car feels like it won't even move on map 0, I never noticed the huge difference when putting in the jb3, but when turning it off it feels like I'm driving a 80hp car! The difference is unreal, I feel like in D and in low RPM's the car just doesn't wanna move.

Putting the jb3 back on and onto map 3 I refuse to drive on map 0... ever again!

Now try running map 7-9 daily and turning it off. I wont even drive it on less than 7 so I take the vespa or other cars.

This is what all my customers tell me. You really appreciate the JB3 once you don't have it. Over time we get use to the power and realize it only after you remove or switch to map0.

while there is a significant power increase, a lot also has to do with how the throttle is set up on the jb3. it's more of a kick your ass into the back of the seat kind of feeling. stock is by no means slow feeling if you throw it into M (or drive a manual) and floor it.

I felt like i'd been castrated when i left the dealership and they had flashed my car back to stock, even with all supporting mods, without a tune this car is useless.

Yeah the throttle response has a LOT to do with it. I got used to just driving around in D and when I wanted a bit of acceleration a tiniest push on the pedal would send me flying back into my seat. Now I have to switch over into DS and then slam the pedal a bit. Definitely a different feeling and not getting anymore traction lights all over the place haha.

Would running the N/A mode be similar to driving a 328i?

EmmetBrown - Sometimes going the unsafe way is worth it.... haha

Saif - go study for HnP

Could this also be partly due to resetting, or messing up the ECU adaptations when you add/remove the tune? I've noticed that my car becomes more tame after I unploug the battery stock, or add/remove tune, until it adapts to my driving style.
