BMW Art Cars – Come Home…
Achtung! – Kunst Autos… BMW Welt & Museum Am Olympiapark 1 & 2 München, Germany, 80809 http://www.bmw-welt.de/ http://www.bmw-museum.de/ Hi Guys, This week I made a little homage to the BMW Museum in Munich. I wanted to see a little exhibit on the art cars. These cars were to be only on display for a few months (originally to end in Jan, 2011) – but now BMW has extended their stay until April 30th, 2011. I think all of you have seen my museum and welt pics before… but I thought I would also show you these wonderful art cars. A side note: Jeff Koon’s art M3 LeMan’s car is back on display now. It wasn’t available to see when I visited the museum this week. Enjoy, Dackel First some press “stock photos” from BMW AG on the outside of the Museum and Welt. These are BMW press photos. They give you a feel for what the Welt is all about – for those of you not fortunate to see this BMW temple first hand!     BMW HQ and Museum “bowl” in background.      Art Car Display inside the “bowl”…  Now onto my photos… First, an interesting concept car at the base of the ramp that leads up to the Art Car “bowl”…   Here we go…         Mmmm…               Art car model…      Art model car…  And the real car... Great pics! I wanted to make a trip there before I leave but I dont think thats going to happen.
EDIT: for those of you who live under a rock, here is Jeff Koon's art M3 that wasnt on display when he went thru there.  |

Agreed, Warhol's M1 is crap. I kind of like Rauschenberg's car. Also that slick little rockety-looking Z4 concept-type thing at the beginning. Thanks! ianc

FYI... the Art Car's have been held over (yet) again. Me thinks they are a very popular exhibit.

I went to the Welt and Museum again today. I am soooo spoiled! lol The art cars are really cool. I was hoping to see the Jeff Koons M3GTS... but it was gine again! Seems like everytime I miss seeing that car!
 I still enjoyed myself today - showing another forum member around BMW HQ. I will post some pics tomorrow. I am beat right now. Gutten Nacht. Dackel |
