I dont know, u want to fuel 10 cylinders instead of 6 with these gas prices? What is the weight to power ratio on both of them?

I think I might rather have the new 550i myself. At least drive both.

Yea gas prices are definitely a killer right now. I just love the way the M5 looks and the sound of it sounds so amazing in my opinion. Obviously I'm not buying a new one. It would be one that was still in warranty.

went from a e46 M3 to a e60 M5. Miss the e46, but love the comfort and sportiness of the e60. V10 is intoxicating.

Tuner, you've seen my car.

I don't regret my decision, and yes MPG is bad, but manageable. Especially if you have a beater or use the metro, etc.

Just know what your getting yourself into financially, and do your research for the right car. Its a buyers market and there are plenty of good deals out there.

Yeah I love your car. I've been looking and yes I definitely have to find the right deal. I found an 06 with 58k on it for 37k, but it's out of warranty and I know the maintenance on an M is very expensive.

Been there, done that, got the t shirt, and came back to the n54. The m5 (e39 and e60) both have leas torque than a tuned 335, weigh more, absolutely drink gas, and cost more to maintain and mod. The only real mod for the e60 that compares to the gains of a 335 tune is the dinan striker motor for $30,000. Save your money and buy a house or something.

Pat, talk to Clem on here. Check out this regional forum for pics of his car. Silver e39. Sexy as hell and great guy to know since he's a fiscally conservative modder. He does his own work and is very good to work with.

Oh no, whatever you do, don't get a 06. Get a late 07 or a 08. 08s is when they did the LCI.

06s tend to have too many gremlins and issues.

Mine is a 08 and it's been solid. So far I have 47k miles on it and still going strong. I did buy the extended maintenance and warranty though-that put a dent in my pocket. Lol.

Thanks for the headsup. I didn't realize the 06s had so many issues. I'm sure the maintenance and extended warranties were expensive. One reason I was looking at an M, in your opinion do you believe that they will be more reliable as they age due to the fact that they are NA vs the 335i?
