Go get them bimmer boys!

4th and 6th now. The problem is, the #56 BMW is 3 laps down from the lead Ferrari. The #55 BMW is 4 laps down. Thats a lot of track to make up in 4 hours.

BMW #55 has a broken prop shaft #55 retired, until they can recover the car.

The #56 BMW is now only 2 laps down, but is quickly running out of time. That Corvette is so strong right now. It blew by the Ferrari for 1st place on the straights with very little effort.

Dammit, I just missed the interview with Allan McNish about his crash. If someone finds it, please post it in here. I'll keep an eye out for it too.

What a finish, so glad the lone Audi survived and went on to win it all.

Corvette took 1st in GTE Pro on Chevy's 100th birthday. BMW faught back to take the 3rd spot on the podium. Well done BMW, well done.

Just in: Corvette wins at Le Mans, begins work to make sure every soul in the universe knows about it.

Congrats to the winners nevertheless. Brilliant run by the Audi.

That was a fantastic race to watch.

Brilliant finish by Audi. A decade of dominance spills over into another decade.

7th class win at Le Mans for Corvette since 2001 on the 10th anniversary of their first win! Corvette C6.Rs win both GTE-PRO and GTE-AM.

VW Group and General Motors..... not the first companies majority of the people think of when it comes to motor sports.

I am getting on that C7 wait list today

This wasnt the exact interview I was referring to, but here is McNish talking about his crash.

He spoke with SpeedTV later:

“Immediately I realised after the start that the car balance was very good. The guys had done a superb job from the incident on Thursday night to bring it into perfect shape. I was up into fourth quite early on, in fact after the first corner, and was quicker than the Peugeot ahead of me but it took quite a long time through the stint to get in a position to overtake as they were pretty fast on the straight. However we were much quicker in the cornering. I got a run and overtook him around the outside down into the first chicane and then I had the pit-stop and caught up on the second place sister car of Benoit Treluyer and overtook him down into Porsche. Timo Bernhard was in the lead just ahead and he slid wide coming out of the Dunlop chicane so I kept to the inside as he came back on and overtook him. At the same time, I went down the inside of a GT class Ferrari which was just ahead. As I got past the first thing I knew was I was spinning towards the wall on the left hand side and so immediately realised that he’d tagged the left rear of my car with the right front of his. After that I was just along for the ride. It was a very big accident – I think everybody realises that. I climbed out of the car by myself then taken to the Medical Center for a check-up and then had a scan at a local hospital but was given the all-clear. I have to say a huge thank you to the Audi designers because they have produced a car that could survive an enormous impact allowing the driver to open the door and get out unharmed. It’s a big disappointment for the entire team. For Tom and Dindo because the car we were given by our mechanics and engineers was really, really good. I think it was the car to have and that means we all have a flat feeling.”

I couldn't imagine the pressure those 3 drivers had to deal with after Rocky's crash. A new team with a new car, and they had to carry the weight of the whole Audi dynasty on their shoulders. Just insane.

I was talking about the drivers themselves. They were 3 new(er) drivers for team Joest.
