443HP BMW 1M by TechTec/Akrapovic Debuts at Sport Auto's Tuner GP (Updated w/ VIDEO)
UPDATED WITH VIDEO:
Took me a bit but my friend that gave me the pics told me there was a short 1 minute video and the 1M is in it at WOT on the main straight. On that portion you are normally jamming between 3-4th gear WOT before the first 45 degree curve. I edited the video to just show the 1M fly by. And it sounds Folks, First and foremost, thanks to my friend Cruzer03 over at e46fanatics for the pics and the short info. This past saturday, the German Tuner magazine Sport Auto held their annual Tuner GP at Hockenheim Grand Prix raceway. This yearly event pits tuners from all over Europe against each other to see who is the best for bragging rights and with the victory comes added exposure for those shops in the winners circle. My friend saw this 1M as it came out. It is supposedly owned by TechTec tuning and sponsored by Akrapovic. He was told that the 1M has a "Prototype" exhaust and is pushing around 450PS (443HP). It finished 3rd in its class losing out to a Lotus Exige and a S/C E46M3. It also looked from the pics that it also had a KW suspension setup. Anyways, enjoy the pics. WoW! Pretty cool! Looks like TechTec has finished their stage-II tune for the 1M.
Humm... 443HP... that sounds familiar... doesn't it! Remember my screen shot of the next 1M/M3 engine specs.... awlfully darn close HP wise! |

Hey Nick, did your buddy happen to record any video(s) of what the exhaust sounds like? I am also noting a difference in this exhaust from the one shown in a previous post. This one is more square-ish box like don't you think? The earlier one had a more rounded can shape to it. |

The exhausts definetly look different as the ones from my friends pics has one pipe going in and 2 exhausts coming out and splitting out shotgun style.

The guy that used to do the work on my 135i is Klaus Peter from Schaefer Clubsport. One of his race prepped mini's beat out the AC Schnitzer mini and he is well known in the K-town area. He was and is the only one in that area that I would trust my car to.

That has to be 443 crank hp if its on stock turbo's. The numbers are still likley to be inflated too.
None the less that exhaust is wonderful.
