Perhaps the most highly anticipated BMW 1 Series M Coupe review has finally just aired - in episode 1 of Top Gear's newest season (Season 17). Jeremy Clarkson takes the helm of the 1M coupe in the review and absolutely loves the car, calling it a brilliant brilliant car! It's also put into the hands of The Stig for runs around the Top Gear track.

How did the 1M do in the performance measures? Well, it only managed to outdrag the Cayman R and Lotus Evora and beat the M3 CSL around the Top Gear track, with a time of 1:25:00 ! The results are consistent with almost all 1M reviews thus far - that the 1M is a little torque monster and one of the most capable production BMWs ever made when put on a shorter track with many technical turns.

i popped down to the corner shop just before top gear, and there was a black 1M parked outside!

had a good old look, still think it's ugly as sin, but the numbers mean i wouldn't say no

Is it just me, or is the front of the 1M all f***ed up from an unexplained accident..

EDIT: Just saw the stig lap and FAIL LOL.

Agreed, still ugly as sin but a hell of a track car in the hands of a proper driver. Unfortunately, I have a feeling that we will see many of 1M crashed due to the lack of driving talent of their owners. Heck, if Stig ran it off the road what are the chances of any of us in keeping it on the road?

That was awesome... I wish I could afford to get a brand new 1M right now, but I guess I'll have to hunt down and club a 1M owner to death to get one in a few years!
