Sabine Schmitz Reviews the 1M
BIMMERPOST NEWS Sabine Schmitz Reviews the 1M Sabine Schmitz might be out of Ring Taxi duty, but she can't seem to let go off BMW M models. For the German car show TURBO, Sabine reviewed the 1-series M Coupe, and if it can live up to its marketing claims. Even if you don't understand German you can see what a blast she had. Or, in her own words: "The 1M makes you wanna drive fast." We've translated the most interesting parts below: BMW claim: Athletic design Sabine Schmitz: "This car is very aggressive, almost ostentatious. It rather reminds me of a muscle man than of an athelete." BMW claim: All-out intense Sabine Schmitz: "The specs such as manual transmission and mechanical limited slip differential sound promising. The 1M is planted on the road, and that's what I want in a sports car. You can feel the road. The engine makes such an aggressive noise." BMW claim: The acceleration is breathtaking - so is the braking Sabine Schmitz: "It makes a lot of fun. BMW had issues with the brakes in the past, but the brakes [of the 1M] worked flawlessly." BMW claim: Motor Sports in its genes Sabine Schmitz: "The 1M makes so much fun on a race track. It's made for the turns and offers a lot of grip out of corners." After all, Sabine could agree with most of the surely not humble marketing slogans BMW uses for the 1M. It's just the exterior desing which was a bit over the top to her. Good to see she's still a thing for BMW.

Very cool video. Great to see the car in black too. I wish I understood german.
I really want one, the car seems so well done. It's also entertaining how much Germans love tacky pop music |

I met her once briefly when I took my car to the 'Ring. The track was closed at the time due to an accident, but even with a passenger waiting in her taxi, she was still cheerful and smiling. Really cool person. |

Sabine isn't a works driver! She hasn't been for a while. The Porsche(s) she races are privately owned cars and they belong to the guy that owns the team (and that she happens to live with). IRL he owns one of the largest meat processing companies in Europe. His garage contains almost anything you can think of, so she doesn't really need private cars. There was a tv feature about Sabine 2-3 months ago and in that she stated, that she loves driving her tractor the most (she owns a horse farm and has farm equipement because of the horses).

Same problem I have, Andre. We have a saying in Germany:
How do you earn a small fortune racing? Simple. Start with a big fortune. Should have known that before I got married.
