2012 headlight on 2008-2011 e82

Does anyone know if the new LCI headlight is plug and play for older models or is it much more complicated than that?

Thanks in advance

Someone did the conversion already with a 128 I believe from South America. Cost a fortune + coding.

Thats because he went from halogen to Xenon as well... and I thought he was from South Africa. Oh well, maybe I'm not paying as much attention as I should

Haha yes that is correct now that I think about it. I was just clarifying Halogen --> Xenon conversion. I have yet to hear about Xenon --> Xenon

EDIT Found it! This should help you out! Seems to be almost PnP with small adjustments.

63117181291 & 63117181292

3) Did all the bulbs fit from old healdights to new ones or did you buy it with all the lamps new?

from the old light = xenon + control unit & signal bulbs will fit

4) Is it a PnP install or do i need to change the control unit and ALC box as well?

not PnP. I added a jumper to tap the DC supply from the ring light bulb. see attached.

Hi guys, i am that guy from South Africa yes, not South America

If i could do it from halogen, you guys can definitely do it!

You probably don't need to code if you are coming from xenons, just tap the LED eyebrow wire to get power from the angel eye wire as toto explained.

Cheers

It's built into the headlight assembly, not accessible.. Just like the new LED Angel Eyes.. I assume it's a couple of LED's

Blue Angel Eyes

Did you see the angel eyes on one of the official 1 series photos (see attached).
To me they look like it should be possible to get the blue AE.

I was at the BMW dealer tonight and he showed me the E92 blue AEs. Absolutely amazing...

Yeh that's what I was hoping... ie the 1series LCI headlights were like the LCI E92 headlights.

Ha i think they look really nice on all cars. Makes the headlights look smaller, less bug eye'd look. I have them installed just no led eye brow working.

i think they look 10x better on a white car.
Plus the bug eye'd look is more aggressive
