Do it! Lately, I have been thinking of picking up a second (or at least borrow the GFs brother's) for multiple angles. Figure this will lead to some solid side by side footage. They also have a 3D mount for 2 GoPros.

You will want the Motorsports Hero (1080p) which is the package that comes with the vehicle mounts. Your thread suggests you are picking one up at BB. I would highly recommend not going this route and ordering online. BB sells the Motorsports package with a 8 gig card for $350.

You can pick up the kit, a second battery (battery life is about 2-2.5 hours @ 1080p) and a 32 gig memory card for much less online.

Below are some sample online options:

- Camera + Mounts from Overstock ($245). http://www.overstock.com/Electronics...1/product.html.

- 32GB Kingston Class 4 SD Card ($50). Memory card info from the GoPro FAQ site:
#What size and type of memory card does the camera take?

* The HD HERO camera supports SD/SDHC cards up to 32GB (any SD card over 2GB is considered a SDHC card). We recommend name brand SDHC cards with a class 4 rating or higher. The two cards that we mostly use in house, which work well are the Kingston and Patriot brand class 4 cards. We mostly use the 16GB class 4 card, as it gives you the most ‘bang for your buck’.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...tent-_-text-_- or http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-Class...2989876&sr=8-1

- Battery can be found for $20 shipped from a few different places, but I got mine from buy.com.

The GoPro HD is awesome. So far I've gotten footage from my car, Jeep offroad, wave runner, snowboard, road bike and mountain bike. I'm trying to experiment with a bunch of different angles.

Just last week I had it on my bike helmet and got footage of some dude flying around a corner and narrowly missing me, only to totally wipe out right next to me. Pretty funny stuff.

double sided 3m tape or using the suction cup mount on a window.

A lot of the people autocrossing use these, as well as Randy dunring some of our cruises for C&C and whatnot...

Thanks Will. I was hoping to pick it up this weekend because I wanted to get footage of the Pie Run. I also saw someone is selling theirs for $200 on here. The other issue is that I have $100 of credit on my BB card that I wanted to use up. That's why I was thinking of getting it from Best Buy. Otherwise, I'd totally buy online.

How about this...anyone want to loan me their gopro for the weekend while I wait for my own? Lol

That's a tough call. It would be helpful at times to have the viewfinder option to playback footage or line various shots up. Although, I have found that simply eye balling the line seems to work fine. I think that the value is not there for it and would rather spend the money on other accessories instead. If you plan to use this thing as a P&S, then you more than likely will want this otherwise you are just blinding shooting pics.

If you take some sample footage and have your mount points figured out then you should be fine. Worst comes to worst you get the camera and pick this up later after you find there are cases where you need it.

The suction mount and 3m mounts are the most common. I would be skeptical trying the suction mount on tinted windows.

Anyone mount the GoPro in their car to the headrest? I am looking for an in car setup for AutoX which shows the course ahead and steering inputs.

Similar to how this m5 driver has his setup:

I sent him a message and will report back if I hear anything.

There are a few options discussed here

Not to piss on anyone's parade but i kinda don't think its worth it, cause look how often you are going to use it. By the time you go through the option list your spending over 300 and some dollars. I mean its totally up to you but this is my two cents

Wind noise is your biggest concern for auto applications. I would recommend looking around at sample GoPro videos. Using the waterproof door will improve things.

Well, the camera itself is roughly $240 which IMO is priced competitively for a 1080p HD Camera.

Doesn't matter how many times he uses it, as long as he buys and uses it Sat
