Baltimore Grand Prix Question
Ok so I have tickets for the whole weekend for this event. Does anybody have any good hotels that they would recommend around the event even though I know they will be expensive or near by the Airport or what not? Thanks.

Hey man,
There is a Hojo right across the street from Camden Yards, but I bet that it is either sold out or ridiculously priced. If you stay by BWI there are a few hotels, a Marriott and a La Quinta(sp) -- there is a MARC station nearby that should be able to get downtown and honestly it's probably best not to drive.

Most hotels near the Inner Harbor have had 3 night minimums, but in the past week I've seen some of them start to drop that. I just book one night (Sat) at the Marriott Waterfront Inner Harbor which has it's own parking lot. But with taxes it's $400/night, if you don't mind driving back down 95/295 to BWI you can definately score cheaper hotels closer to $120/night

Yeah I'm in NOVA so I've though about commuting back and forth. But it might make more sense to stay up in Bmore for 2 nights.

Do what I did, date someone that lives 2 blocks from the race track. Free housing for the entire weekend and $6 a day to park in a garage. And if I behave, free food too.

haven't bought tickets yet. I might just do the $65 ground tickets for all 3 days. Just going to get drunk and walk around. 20 something days until the race and the roads are still bad so I am not sure when they are going to repave the road. I am expecting lots of cornering accidents and such due to horrible road conditions. She lives in a small apartment for UMD. I dunno, give her a pie or so this weekend and she may let you crash over.

there are lots of nice hotels near the airport .Just don't get too close to the airport or you will be listening to jet engines all night.. try any of the hotels near Nursery road which is right off of 295 . Mariott Courtyard or Westin ( my favorite) . |

i would stay near the airport (take light rail into the city) or even a little further south, like near Columbia.
the hotel pricing is ridiculous, especially with the 2 or 3 night minimum. however, if you have tickets to our car corral, you can leave your car parked overnight there (there's overnight security) saves a little $$ if you stay at inner harbor

Light rail will definitely be running, just don't know what stops will be closed during the race.
