Get a VERY long drill bit and drill from the tip through the muffler section. Been dying to try it.

Do what i did;

- Cut a flap opening in each muffler, pull out all the wadding, the muffler with the valve in has lots of small holes in the pipe helping to dispurse the noise into the wadding, get some exhaust wrap from Halfords (UK Auto store) and rap the pipe to seal. Close up and weld the cuts you have made... done! Gives a nice increase in roar and no extra m'way drown!

Get catless downpipes and i'm being serious. That with the stock exhaust is going to make it sound more aggressive and still being quite livable.

You exhaust wrapped inside your muffler or outside? Benefits/cons?

Old thread I know.

No kidding. A FX35 sounds better than our exhaust. A damn SUV!

I did the muffler delete and left all else stock....way too much drone for me at highway speeds. Ended up welding the muffs back on.

I have the "golf tee mod", but will soon be trying out how it sounds with the secondary cat delete.

I cut out the factory xpipe and left everything else. Sounds good no drone or rasp.

Why screw around with a golf tee, ball bearings & zip ties when you can just unplug it in two minutes?

^ Exactly! Or if you have a JB4, you can switch the exhaust flap on/off via the steering wheel controls on the fly. The best and most reliable/consistent bang for the buck you can do is down pipes with your stock exhaust. It sounds aggressive, but not too loud or an obnoxious drone at certain rpm’s. Also, in my opinion, I think the Nissan/Infiniti 35/37 exhausts sound awful with a most annoying drone.

Everyone wants a short-cut that doesn't cost anything. Rather than waisting your money removing your secondary cats, buy a set of 3" down pipes. If you really want a loud exhaust put in a set of electric exchaust cutouts so you can open and close them as needed.
