Wow.. In on this one. This is really why I stayed away from the 335i it's an AMAZING car! Don't get men wrong.. But between the 2 turbos and the Hpfp...

Is your car at a shop? Best thing to do I would say is new oem motor.. Anything other than that is going to make you go bald...

This will start at 11k, it's less than 19k. You can part it out and make some money back.

Just look a lot on salvage lots. You may be able to find one for a better deal!

Were you hearing anything unusual prior to the failure?
Have you ever had problems with your injectors?

Did your belt ever get shredded with the typical power steering pump pulley failure? I've seen belt get sucked in through the crank seal and clog the oil pump, restricting the oil pickup several times. Just curious...

A BMW-remanufactured N54 motor costs $7500 at Tischer. I would go with that option.

Before dropping that kind of money, lift the engine out of there and see what the problem is. If you only have damaged rod(s)/piston(s), you can fix that up for a LOT less than a new engine. VAC motorsports sells both pistons and rods for the N54 - http://store.vacmotorsports.com/cate...px?Keyword=N54

Please post pics as you do this!! Not many N54 teardown/rebuild pictures available, so this would be valuable to the community as well as [hopefully] to your pocketbook!

Keep us posted! Good luck!
