any possibility?

i bought 2010 e90 328i alphine white from long beach bmw dealer
i keep regretting not getting a stick shift model instead so i just thought hey
(correct me if im wrong) there must be much more demands on e90 328i for automatic transmission so if i bring in my car to trade identical model with only different transmission why won;t the dealer guys do it since it benefits both sides.
. so is this possible to work it out?

Why don't you call some dealerships and find out?

Maybe but you've added another owner to the car which drops the value.

May be logical thinking on your part but that’s not how dealerships work. They are in business to make money. Assuming you found something of equal value on a dealer lot, you will pay on the transaction. If the dealer is willing to take a straight up trade, most likely, the car you would be getting will have less equipment, or higher miles or a combination both.

From a dealer perspective, does not matter if the car in trade has auto or manual. If you have an auto and want a manual, they will tell you the manual is harder to come by and as such, they will want a premium for it. If you have a manual and want an auto, they will tell you it’s harder for them to sell a manual since most people prefer auto.

Nothing personal ... its just business.

IDK but would not be surprised if dealer comes in at 1 to 2k plus your car. Assuming your car is in perfect condition (no dings, dents, chips, etc.) then maybe 250 to 500 if you negotiate real hard. But remember even with that number, you will still pay CA sales tax on the full purchase price so you can add another 8.25% + whatever your local county adds on top of that. So bottom line, you’re looking at over 3,000 in CA taxes on top of the difference the dealer wants.
