2011 335i VS 2013 Shelby GT500
Before I joined the forums and got my car I didn't have too much knowledge about modifying cars, I just liked their looks and basic factors. Since then, I've been learning a ton from most of you on the forums as well as my own research, and have been geared towards performance and handling besides just the basic things that had me liking cars before. I currently have modifications on my car and have future plans to do some suspension and cosmetic work.
I've recently learned about and have been looking into the 2013 Shelby GT500 ... beast. The supercharged 5.8 liter V8 puts out 650HP and 600 pounds feet of torque, besides that, its suspension has also been upgraded to Blistein electronic adjustable dampers which can be controlled on the inside. A lot more comes with the car but those being the "basic" specs Ive been lightly considering trading my car or selling my car for this switch (when available); I wanted to see what you guys think about the new Mustang and this idea...

They look like a a wicked car, but I'd have to take a ZR1 over the Mustang GT500. If your looking for American muscle.

I did not care for the "Newer" body mustangs or any other until recently.....and now they have really grown on me. And for the money...my God...you can't beat what you get.
With that said...that new GT500 is just beautiful along with being a beast. A ZR1 would be WAY too expensive. The more I look at and read about the new Boss, the more I want one of those....

Phenomenal car. Ford has done a great job improving all of their cars. Motor Trend (http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...n/viewall.html) did a comparo with a 3 series and the new Mustang, and everyone raved about how well the Mustang did. It used to be that if you were considering a 3-series for it's performace, you wouldn't look at a Mustang. Not so anymore.
If you are looking for a coupe, the Mustang SHOULD NOT be overlooked. That being said, I think if you are used to the ride of a BMW, Fords best setup is likely going to feel harsh. Truth be told, though, I have not driven a Mustang so I am just speculating (in true interwebs fashion.) |

It'll struggle to get that power to the pavement for sure, but I'd imagine you could just invest in some MTs and drag wheels and make some ridiculous passes stock (minus tires).
I don't know if there's such a thing as too much horsepower, but I'm wondering just how much of that 650 is useable. Don't get me wrong, I love the car. I am just a bit skeptical about how much more apparent the extra 100 horses will be. Don't forget that you'll also probably have to wade through greedy dealerships. The hype around this car is pretty ginormous and Ford dealers are no different than any other car dealer; they like money too. I'm eager for the reviews of how well the power gets put to the pavement. |

I'm with you on the new Boss. That's the one to get. The Mustang has come a long way in the last few years.

That's one serious machine. If you can afford the gas note then "I ain't mad at ya!!! Do what ya gotta do..." 650 horses wont come with 335 MPG ratings but if you buy this car you are buying performance not efficiency.
Get a hooptie on the side for day to day runs and you are good to go. If you pull the trigger let us know so we can see the pics. I also agree with previous comments... Get the black one once it does NOT have white stripes.

I don't think you will get much change out of $65K with tax.
