How do you connect ctek 3300 under the hood?

ok, so after taking my car to dealership to charge my battery (they say battery replacement isn't under warranty), I just figured I could charge the battery myself over the winter so I got myself a CTEK 3300 battery charger.

The problem is how do I connect this??? I hear you would have to connect this things under the hood not direct from the battery under trunk.

If you are using the large alligator clips .
Under the hood on the left side of the car there is a post covered
by a red plastic cover that is the positive terminal . Along the side
of the engine bay pretty close by and a little forward is a silver hexagonal standoff that is ground. Consult your manual to confirm.
