Leaking Oil
The car is a 08 335i with 49,700 miles.
The other day I noticed there was a small puddle of oil on the ground in my garage. I first thought it was spillage from the last oil change, but being that was 4k miles ago, I didn't think so. So I put the car onto a lift to inspect everything before my warranty runs out. I figured the oil would be coming from aftermarket oil cooler but it wasn't. When I pulled off the bottom plastic piece, you could see oil all over the rear area of it. It looks like the oil is coming from the bell housing between the engine and tranny. I would guess the crank shaft seal went bad? This is going to get interesting because they will have to drop the tranny to inspect that area. I have an appointment Monday to bring the car in to get looked at. Looks like I am going no where this weekend. |
