Really odd electrical glitch on my 335. WTF?
2009 335i M-Sport, not sure what the heck happened, but leaving the Home Depot the Comfort Access didn't recognize me approaching (new batteries from last week too). I tried using the open door button on remote instead and nothing, had to use the back-up key to get inside.
So the car started, but here's the strange part, all my radio settings are erased including Tone settings (back to default), i-Drive map is in night mode and my outside mirrors pointed all down, plus the readings are all in kilometers. Since I left Home Depot, the CA works fine now. This is the first time anything like this has happened. Anyone have an idea what might have caused all this? if i were you id drive with the remote in the slot for about a week, set your time radio setting ECT. and just keep it in the Slot for a while when driving. thats what i do, i dont think ive ever replaced my batterys, and my spare key had all my settings too didnt use that for like 7 months and the same story happend to me evry thing was reset. drove around with the key in the slot. and it works fine now .

oh wow, i've been trying to figure out how to get the I-drive to go into night-mode like that for full screen. I can only see it go to night-mode when it is dual-view on the right side. But I can't seem to figure out how to enable it for the full screen version.

push control to right for the menu, scroll to the map settings and click for night-mode. it's PITA - and it was another PITA to set all the presets, I forgot it's not quick and easy

There is a service bulletin out for a faulty + battery connection at the fuse panel....Look into that.

I'd be curious to find out what happened. The funny thing is we all totally believe the OP, because we drive these cars. I can only imagine some SA looking at him going, huhnnnnh? Whatttttttttttttttt? And then getting the repair bill back, unable to duplicate, performing as designed....

Haha! I was coming out of my POS gym at Urban Active - eta: I'm going to mention this to Kelly BMW and see what happens - I can just see that the SA will give me that WTF look, I wonder if the the computer will store a problem code or anything that it disconnected? |

And I wonder too if the SA will blame that I wired my Escort Solo Radar Detector into the fuse panel behind the glove box? It was just plugged into an empty slot, nothing was spliced or cut. |

The dealer should be able to pull it up. I would un-plug it and hide it. It just piece of mind going in, you know? Why risk it? |

As cool as comfort access is, sometimes I'm glad I didn't get it. I see so many threads on glitches with it.
