Newbie with first E90!
Hello friends!
I'm new from the Toronto area and just wrapped up a deal on a 2010 328i with 18,000km (10,000 miles) on it, and the Premium Package. Basically I've been told it's the most "loaded" a 328i can be. Apparently it's the same as the US 328i? Went with the Steptronic as we do rush hour driving almost every day. Car is black on black with the dual climate, Bluetooth, fog lights, and heated seats. I've purchased snow tires for it (Bridgestone Blizzak) as well as made an appointment to get the windows tinted. I take delivery of the car Wednesday. It's my first "real" BMW, my other car is a Mini Cooper Sport with the stick. So, any "tips and tricks" with the car I should know? Last edited by RTEnthusiast; 12-26-2011 at 01:55 PM.. |

Welcome bud. I'm in Toronto area too and I know how you feel with the traffic bit. Enjoy it, these cars are fun as hell!

Here are the pics:
Just some quickies off the dealer lot. Stupid questions: -I don't believe the car has Comfort Access (I have to put the fob into the dash and push the button). Does it have any sort of "detector button" or anything on the doors, or do I actually need to unlock it with the key fob? We also have a Nissan Altima in the family with the "smart key" so just trying to figure out how exactly this one works. -Just auxiliary or USB as well? It has the "BMW Professional" audio system. -Any cool little tricks I should know? Thanks! |

You need to use the key fob. With comfort access you can go near the car with your key and press a button on the door handle I believe. The top button on the key fob is the unlock button if you didn't know already :P Car looks really nice btw. If you're going to mod I say black grilles would be a good first mod. But really up to you if you want the all black look

a 323i and a 328i is not the same, performance wise, almost 30 ponies difference
but everything else other than speed is the same! have fun with the snow, u'll love it...and when people say our cars can't handle in snow, prove them wrong |

Comfort access, there is no button on the door, you walk within 3 feet of the car and your mirrors, seat, radio and climate control sets to your preference. Just touch the inside of the door handle to unlock, sit down and press 'start'. Same with the trunk, walk to the trunk and pull the trunk handle to open it.
I wish BMW made house door locks like this, would eliminate keys. |

Thank you all for the warm welcome!
Here are a few pictures of my other car, a Mini Cooper with the Sport Package, Premium Package, and Cold Weather Package. I went with an automatic with the BMW because my Mini is a stick, and I live right in the heart of downtown Toronto so rush hour can be a royal b*tch.
