GP Thunder 8500k. Pink and Green?
Hey guys, so I just recently purchased the GP Thunder 8500k and went to install them today and ran into this!!!
1. as you can obviously tell, the two bulbs are a different color. 2. the passenger's side is not that blue at all... it's actually a hint of green up close and the driver's side bulb is actually glowing PINK inside the housing... was very unimpressed to say the least... looked nothing like the other GP Thunder 8500k installs i've seen... These are the bulbs I bought... right ones? Compared to the others I've seen, the box is missing the "H8...35w - 50w" label and the blue film around the bulbs on mine is actually a neochrome looking color. Maybe I got sent the wrong bulbs? All i know is, something definitely didn't seem right so I uninstalled them and put the stock ones back in just in case. but has anyone seen these bulbs actually glow green/pink? pm'ing the vendor now. asked before even buying if I would have a problem with receiving two different bulbs and he assured me I wouldn't... anyway, i've never used gp thunder bulbs (in any color temp) so i cant say anything about their quality, but which vendor did you buy these from? if its e92-lighting, ive bought bulbs from them and their customer service is awesome. im sure they'll take care of your issues/concerns. most other vendors ive bought from on this forum have also provided excellent customer service too. |

alright, so I bought another set of GP thunders 8500k V2 from a separate seller brand new in box. and, though, they were both the same color, i'm still getting the greenish tint from them and not the bright white/blue i've seen from other GP thunder 8500k installs... vids and pics:
now you can see the greenish tint (slight pink-ish in second photo)... don't think this is normal but since i've had this on 4 different bulbs, could it be my headlights and not the actual bulbs? |

did you touch the bulb when you were installing it? It might have gotten some oil from your hand onto the bulb. If not then you need to send it back because that shouldn't be happening. By the way the pictures are very deceiving because in real life those things aren't that bright. I got gp thunder 7500k and only the inner ring was pretty much lit and outer one was faintly lit. I would just get led.

Sorry to bump an old thread but I recently bought the 7500k bulbs and if you look at them from a 45* angle up close the rings themselves have pink in them. Anybody know what would cause this? From dead ahead they're white like they're supposed to be...

are the gp thunders worth it? or should i just fork up the money and go to an LED solution? i currently already have the weisslicht leds for my angel eyes but they are not reliable at all! ive had to replace each side once already and now the driver side one is flickering again. i want to go with the lux h8 but dont want to spend that kind of money right now. would you suggest the 7500k over the 8500?
