Thumbs down Fishcake321 Depo 90s HID

Unlike the eBay seller's (Fishcake321) claims, these DEPO 90 lights do NOT have "excellent quality" projectors. The light distribution, dipersion, and cutoff are beyond disappointing. Other problems associated with these lights include flickering, error codes (with canceler module installed), and poor craftsmanship (fingerprints smudges inside the lenses). Seller is not responsive; no returns or refunds are allowed if you have a problem. Not worth $680... BUYER BEWARE!

I was strongly considering these too. Did you consider modifying the lights to include the FX-R modification?

I am going to have to go that route to make them satisfactory. They are really that BAD.

Given my experience, I would strongly caution anyone who is considering these.

Anyway, for those wanting to save money, I suggest going directly to a vendor who provides the FX-R 1.1s already installed such as Umnitza or LightWerkz.

Those look pretty bad. I went with an OEM retrofit and it was definitely worth the money.

I think I am going to research the OEM retrofit. I am sure its more money, but probably a better long term solution... Where did you get yours from? All I can find is ECS.

Fingerprints are a sign of HAND MADE craftsmanship.
Most people pay extra for that!

No, most people pay for QUALITY... If you feel that this item represents that, then knock yourself out and go rock a pair on your ride

Guys, understand that Umnitza does not use LightWerkz for their retrofits. Rather, they use LightWurkz (based out of california). LightWurkz has done some really crappy retrofits, while LightWerkz is the best in the business. And the FX-R 2.0's are worse than the 1.1's, they have more quality control issues.

I got them from another member here who was selling them.

I'm not sure. But when I called him out on the poor quality of his lights, he mentioned he sent an inquiry about it to his vendor in China. I didn't need to hear anything more after that.

All of these vendors who sell DEPO projector headlights use the same DEPO projectors--unless they offer a retrofit service, in which case they obviously use a different projector. They come from the DEPO factory with these sub-par projectors. While I'm not sayind Fishcake321 is without flaws, it isn't his fault the DEPO projectors suck so much.

What Fishcake321 excels at is the angel eyes he uses. They're extremely good.

Any vendor who claims that the factory DEPO projectors are "good" is probably overstating things...

I've said it once, and I'll say it again, an FX-R 1.1 retrofit (NOT from Umnitza!) is the way to go. I just can't recommend Umnitza until they get their quality control issues sorted out, and they simply have not done so.

And last bit, it's extremely unlikely you're going to be able to be error free without coding for 06/07 cars. They're simply too sensitive. It's better to just code out the errors and not have to worry about it, IMO.

I don't see why you're whining about the quality of these lights when you paid less than half the cost of OEM.

I have these in my E90. The two shadows are unfortunate, but they don't render you fucking blind. The output is fine. The angel eyes are top-notch. Errors can be coded away easily. These things compare fine considering cost vs the OEM adaptives in my 135.

Nobody is whining. The purpose of this thread was to let people know what they are getting for their money with these lights. That's all. THEY WILL NEED TO BE SENT OUT FOR MORE WORK. So people need to consider that in there HID retrofit expenses if they buy them. Personally, I would rather use a one stop shop. Also, I posted pics here for all to see which support my review. Obviously others here share some of the same opinions I have expressed.

Anyway, good luck with those shadows at night dude. I'm sure you're a real baller in your town

Where can i purchase just stock DEPO headlights without any modifications already. I want to retrofit my own projectors and LED angel eyes.

Of course you're whining. You spend less than half the price of OEMs and make a thread calling the experience a "fleecing" because you didn't receive OEM quality. I imagine you would protest Best Buy after purchasing a Dynex and discovering the picture quality pales by comparison to a Panasonic.
