Vishnu/FFTEC N54 Engine Program
With horsepower levels already approaching 700whp, it won't be too long before we are knocking on BIG power numbers. So we are getting ready with our own in-house engine program. We sourced a stock low mileage short block that is already in the process of getting cleaned and torn down. Then it will be put under scrutiny to find its weakest links and learn how we can improve upon it. My prediction is that it won't be long until there are 1000+whp N54s on the road
Cheers Shiv |

a potential built motor? now we are talking...
I am very, very happy to see that this platform finally got serious. Who knows, maybe soon we'll be talking stroker kits and cams.

BTW this has been in the back of my mind for the last couple of weeks... I was thinking to myself; "I know they have to have a motor on standby"...lol

We don't plan on running the current engine to failure. Instead we would like to see 700whp and drive it like that for a while. Maybe for 5-10k miles and then tear it down to look for signs of wear. We already have nearly 3k VERY HARD miles at 600+ whp so it won't take very long to give it the durability test it needs. Above 700whp, I think a built motor will be a good idea. But that opinion may change if the engine looks cherry upon tear down. Either way, we want to be prepared and take this platform to the next level.

Looking forward for more info.
Nice job shiv and team Vishnu. If we can get new pistons, is it necessary to reduce the compression ratio and get more boost? |

Great stuff Shiv, mad props. When your AT testing goes well, you will have another car shipped over for a big single

My favorite thing about all of this is the daily updates! Where else can you get that kind of dedication from a company who's insanely busy at the moment?

Shiv, this is a very serious question and i expect you to answer is the best way possible.
Can i live in your shop?. +1 on Vishnu pushing the envelope with the N54, it does not seem crazy to say the N54 is the reincarnated 2jz now. its just wrapped in a much nicer exterior now with good leather seats

I just love that all this development is coming after so much shit was talked about the N54 and it being much inferior most all other BMW motors.
Would be awesome if the first single digit 1/4 mile e90 run was actually N54 powered vs a "real" M motor..... Hell, looks like the N54 is even about to pass the S54 based on recent developments.... |

This is the stuff that separate tuners from tooners, no bashing intended
Keep up the good work Vishnu!
