Video: Turbo Noise
Hi everybody.
I came across this video on youtube: My question is, does an intake and downpipe really make the turbo spool THIS loud? Is there anything else this guy did? I also believe this is an N55, could this be why? I would like my car to sound exactly like this. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks |

That's nothing....throw some RB's on there if you really want to hear the turbos spool From the sound of that video, he probably just has a tune, intake, DP's, exhaust, and yes it was a N55 due to the 3.5" DP's.

Thanks. Do you think that Downpipes or a muffler delete would make it sound louder?

Pretty much sounds like my car and many other cars on this board without aftermarket mufflers. chip/DCI/catlezz dps significantly enhance/accentuate the turbo spool. An aftermarket exhaust (beyond the dps) will do nothing to enhance this sound. In fact it will drown it out a bit from the louder exhaust note.

Even with my ar dp's and stock exhaust with only afe drop in filter, my turbo spool was pretty loud. With my afe dci in, the spooling is maybe a little bit louder than it was before.

So you guys would reccomend a tune/dci/dp's for the best sound? With that setup, will I need any other supporting mods? I would like to be on JB4 map 2 and call it a day for the future.

I didn't notice much difference with DP' (although I have catted DP's), just did an Injen intake and I can hear the turbo's spool now, sounds similar to the video (have to have the windows down though)

LOL I'll post some good sounding spools with the RB/AR/AE combo when I get home.
