BimmerFest East

Searched but didn't see/find a thread on this--there's about 25 1ers per-registered, curious how many, if all are on here?

I'm making the journey from Ohio with a few 3 series cars, staying in Baltimore Friday night and caravanning up to the stadium Saturday morning--we have plans to bring buffers and supplies to get a last minute clean in Saturday morning

Figured if anyone was going to the show and traveling up from the southern area will come right past us on 95 (route 543 exit) and is more than welcome to come join/caravan in with us

Myself and another 1 addict are going. Lets see if he posts. We're driving from central PA Friday and staying in Aberdeen. Not sure where your route is taking you but if you go through central PA we would meet up.

This is an optional route if you want. State College is a good halfway point to stop. It looks like this is 30 Mins longer but you avoid the toll road. If you guys are staying in Baltimore, it might take even longer. Could always change to Aberdeen? Driving from State College is the way we went last year. Pretty good drive. Get to go through some mountains before you get down south. Not as many places for police to hide. We like to drive faster (not stupid). Both of us have radar detectors and 2-way radios. Its an option if you want. Then it will be 3:1ers and 3: 3 series. We are trying to leave as early as we can. If you come this way early enough, we've been talking about stopping at 3 mile island to get some pictures with the nuclear reactors as the back drop. We'll be driving right by there. Last year we left around 1PM, want to leave earlier, maybe 10-11, this year.

This is 3 Mile island and the road that we would take is on the way. The green A is the road we would drive on. Lets see if this works.

Edit: just tryed to follow the link on my phone. Didn't work. Worked on my comp though.

It's very easy to get to. Basically a right and a right off of the I-95 exit (if you're heading south) and you're in the stadium parking lot.

haha, faster but not stupid? I'd like some elaboration please. It sounds good, I've already talked to the other guys and they seem excited about the thought. It adds about 2 hours to our overall drive but we'll have to see timing to State College area. I'm coming from Youngstown and the other from Columbus. They are having to leave a couple hours before me lol. It'd be great to set something up though

Faster, not stupid as in speed will increase with less traffic and straight stretches. No high speed weaving in and out of traffic like a jerk. Maybe a few evasive maneuvers to stay together when getting cut off by someone else. I like my car and don't want it damaged. Faster only happens when conditions approve it. If you guys follow i80 across and get off on exit 123 you'll come right pass my house. I can meet you and we can continue 20 more min to State College. State college is about half way between myself and Loesch. We can meet him at the stadium there. There is also a couple gas stations around my house with 93 octane. And one right off the highway at state college. If you guys want to get some 2way radios, I got a cheap pair off amazon last year for $30. They work really well. Depending on speed from where your at its probably going to be 3-3.5 hours to meet. Got plenty of time to iron out the details. Gonna be a lot of fun though.

After talking to the rest of the group last night, the extended time for us (changes a 5.5 hour drive into almost a 7.5 due to not being able to change hotels and still stuck in Baltimore) has produced a "not this time" vote.
Saturday morning we are hitting up a wash on the way (I-95 and State Route 543) if you guys want to meet there. It's about 15 minutes away from Aberdeen towards the South.

And an update for anyone else debating about going; My group is meeting at the Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh, PA on Friday, 7/19/2013 at 12:00pm and driving to Baltimore shortly after. Everyone is welcome

Sounds good man. it is a pretty long drive. meeting at a car wash doesn't sound like a bad idea. i'll have to get a hold of you closer to the event and see what time you guys will be there.

I know a bunch of dudes in my club are heading up there. Still undecided on if I want to go, but I most likely will. We will have 3+ 335i's, 1-3 M5's, 1-3 M3's, a couple 550i's, and my 135i. Should be fun.
