I placed a deposit on the car after learning that my local dealer had one coming. It was already built and being shipped to the dealer. Picked it up in November 2011. No plans to sell.

Put a £1000 down with my dealer when it was hinted that something special may be coming from BMW. That turned out to be the 1M and boy was my dealer right this is something special. Picked up brand new end June 2011, 18000 miles and no plans to sell.

Placed initial deposit July 2010
Received allocation August 2011 Took delivery December 2011 (in middle of snow storm!) Currently 6K wonderful miles of driving bliss Car is everything I was hoping for. No plans to ever sell. Funny to think there were heated discussions on this forum concerning the lack of a DCT or bespoke motor. Also ironic that a parts bin special developed on a shoestring budget turns out to be one of BMW's iconic cars. |

Ordered in May 2012 for late June build (one of the last few Aussie allocations)
Delivered in August 2012. Done just over 8000kms in 10 months. Definitely a keeper for now.

Oh, and the excitement does not stop as time moves on: check the enthusiasm at the dealership when you bring this rare bird in for maintenance. Guess who's the favorite/pet of the classroom most (if not all) techs/mechanics and managers want to treat ? So yes, there is something about this car, some sort of aura/halo, that makes it a league of its own.

Order 8/11
Ed 10/11 Us 12/11 Paid ed pricing for the aw stripper 25k miles dd Liked the car a lot more before i modded it and on the fence about moving it on. I have failed at sorting this car so,far and may bring it back to stock. I am not as in love with this car as most. It has handling issues from the short wheel base. It has issues getting power to the ground. I figure i am willing to put about another 5k in it to sort it, if i have no luck mid 50's will move it to someone from the shine and show crowd that just wants to own a rare car. It is rare and it gets a lot of car guy attention. It was an epic trip to get the car with one of my elderly parents and that alone my mean the car is always in my garage. I have a love hate relationship with his car.

Ordered mine in October 2011. Kinda by surprise actually. I originally went to the BMW dealer to test drive a Mini JCW. After the test drive I saw a big M3 poster on the wall and said " I would prefer that one or even better, a 1M if it wasn't sold out" The sales lady smiled and kindly replied " ooh you can still order the 1M"
Long story short. I went home, did some calculations, had a look at the available options and ordered it the next day. I ordered it as a white one but a few months before the delivery was planned, I changed it to VO. No regrets there :-). Mine is built in Juin and was ready for delivery in July. If I didn't make that remark on the poster, I would be in the MINI section of this forum not knowing I could be owning my dream car because it truly is a dream come true !!

I agree. I think the funnest discussions on this forum was from people saying the 1M would be sitting on the BMW lots waiting for discounts to get rid of them... This one still has me laughing

Looked for months..put $$ down at three dealers, one in USA and two here in Germany thru mil sales.
Got a "yes" call from Florida and ordered car. Found out I couldn't do ED and would have to ship car at own expense from FL to Germany where I'm stationed and then back to USA when finished here plus pay FL taxes...all total...$14,000 above sticker... so waved off purchase allowing some other Jacksonville FL owner the opportunity to buy. Got a call from days later from military sales dealer, had 10 minutes to decide if I wanted it. Placed order for VO with most options, August 2011 Oct 2011 built Nov 11, 2011 delivery Car 739 out of 740! Great car, made some mods like brakes and intercooler, tracked it a bit...overall fantastic and a keeper! As of July 13, 2013, almost 13,000 miles.
