BMW E90 - passenger seat stuck!

Hi All!

In a bloomin dilemma - was the weekend, thought I'd have a garage clear-up instead have an ended up with a car where I can't have a passenger sit with me!

I tried moving the passenger seat so we had additional space in the back to store things. However, it appears something came underneath (an EDT bottle) which caused some problems!

The seat now only moves on the right hand-side not on the left, looking underneath the seat it appears the cylindrical motor just whizzes itself and doesn't move the seat - so its essentially stuck there

Any idea what to do?

I would unbolt the seat from the floor and gently tip it backwards to get a better look at whats going on. be careful when tipping it back make sure you have enough slack in the cable as it may trigger the airbag warning light. The seat is bolted down at each corner.

Hi Gaz,

Thanks for your reply mate.

Just worried about the airbag light coming on if I move the seat - not great at these kind of things - hoping this was an easy fix - if someones had this done before.

However, do you think taking this to an Indy would be OK or if someones is near the Northamptonshire area here

You can disconnect the battery before unplugging the airbag and then put it back in before connecting up the battery - that way you won't get a warning light.
