335i starts then dies after fueling

Hi all I have an 08 335i and I had 50 miles left on the miles to empty gauge before I filled up 91 premium in CA. After fueling my car, it'll crank for longer than normal and go to about 1000 rpm then drop to 800 then die. It starts for about 2-3 seconds before it dies. If I apply the accelerator, it won't die and since I have the 6MT I was able to move from the gas station to a parking lot. I revved the engine at about 1500-2000 rpm the entire way then when I let go to park it died. Took about 2 minutes to get to the parking spot. I have a standard OBD-II reader and it has no fault codes. Its about 27C right now outside so its not a cold start. I have just had the car's AC fixed because a leak was found though I doubt this has anything to do with it. I'm writing this from a K-Mart as I have a friend picking me up. Any help would be useful.

I would say HPFP or Injectors surprise there no codes, had similar symptoms and it was injectors one time and fuel pump the next

Do you remember how much it cost to replace the injectors and I believe the HPFP was replaces under recall by the previous owner

after doing a bit more research, I am wondering if water could have gotten into my gas tank. I believe when water gets in the tank the car might start and have a rough idle and die afterwards which seems to fit my case, and this just happened after I filled up gas. I was at a grocery store, started with no issues, drove across the street to a 76 and after filling up, the car had these issues.

also I am a diy person but I'm at college and have no tools or a place to work

This could be way off, but on wife's old Audi (2007) there was some sort of vapor valve that, if it failed, would cause strange problems when you filled the gas tank from nearly empty to full. Something to do with the change in the gas vapor pressure in the tank. I don't know that I've ever heard of something like that on the N54, but thought I'd mention it...

If it is injectors, they are VERY easy. I had one go out on me while visiting the in-laws in PA (I live in SC). I had one overnighted and found a friend who had some basic tools and did it in a parking lot. Check out the DIY and somehow get those - hell, I think most of the auto-repair places have some sort of tool loaner program you may even be able to use.

Did you resolve the problem and what was it?
