Looks like great fun....having an estate mixing it with all the light weights is great to see ...I really need to man up and take my saloon to a track...Donington Park is only a 20 minute drive away, I've even been on it on my push bike twice

Did you buy your 335i with that LSD or did you get it fitted? I'd like to track my car, but kind of hesitant without a LSD.

I bought it with the LSD fitted and it really helps to lay all of the power down. However, I also did a track night with my old 123d which was running ~270bhp and ~380lbft and apart from the DPF-removal and mapping, it was completely standard and LSD-free. I had a great time in that too, certainly don't remember the inside rear spinning wildly out of control in the corners, so I think you'd be quite alright in your 335i mate.

Cheers,
Grant

Looks good mate. I found on track days that it didnt matter if my car was the fastest or slowest (it has literally been the slowest lol), its just a blast getting out on track and having fun. Id go in mine but it seems wrong doing a track day in a diesel lol.

Your car was going well Grant, look good to! I had my Touring complete with roofrack and bike racks on a while back and was great fun!

Was also driving the blue VX that night, found out I need to lift a little more for the chicane....

Defo mate, if you get the chance... I say do it.

To be honest, it was a two hour open pit session.. however, I think I went out about 3 or 4 times, for an average of 7-8 laps maybe. After which, I felt the tyres (Non-RF Conti SC5's) starting to get a bit too loose!! But the state of pads and tyres is still fine, there's a little extra wear on the outer edge of the front nearside but that's always been the case when I've taken cars round Knockhill and its my no means concerning or remotely ready for the bin.

You are spot on, if you have fun, the car is prepped for it and you aren't going to be slow enough to cause danger to others, then I wouldn't care what I was in!!
As I said above mate, I did a track afternoon in my old 123d and had a blast... go for it!!

Haha, I had a semi-hairy moment at the chicane too.. then a full on hairy moment at the exit of the next corner.

Thanks, would have been good to have a blether in between laps.. but there's always next time I guess. Is the VX your toy then?? What sort of spec is it??

Yeah its just a weekend toy. Its a NA with 150bhp running AD08r tyres and Exige suspension, seems to go quite well lapping in 62 seconds complete with drift lol
