Have it in writing that the deposit is refundable, and a receipt of the deposit.

If you're not a previous/current leasing customer, then you can't waive the security deposit requirement. The exception is if you agree to an increase in the money factor, I think it's 0.00015.

It is the next $50 increment over your monthly payment. Also I don't think you get the money back if you waive it and go for the MF increase.

Before you put money down on the lease, research whether Multiple Security Deposits will work for you. Your money down could be gone if your car is stolen or totaled.

What is this deposit for? To ensure that you'll take delivery of the car you ordered? In which case, $600 is pretty good if it applies to your first payment. I put a $1000 deposit down to secure the order, but it's part of my downpayment for purchase as well.

I have to put down 9% to reserve my car through military sales so 600 isn't bad.
I noticed that the residuals didn't seem to be as good as I would have hoped. BMW's always hold their value well. I was surprised to see that the 3 year residuals where that bad. I think it makes more sence to purchase than to lease this car as far as the numbers go. |
