Thanks! I will post them as soon as I can, but seeing that I have not received an update today so as far as I know my parts are *still* held up in customs in Memphis, TN!
Best case, I'm thinking (hoping) that these parts clear customs and arrive next week (Monday or Tuesday) and I can take delivery of my car next Wednesday. Fingers crossed... I stopped out at the shop today and my 1M parts were painted and the 3 layers of clear coat were drying. Final assembly should take place tomorrow minus the parts missing (retaining clip/bracket) for the "M" side markers. All this delay and frustration for two $7 parts to clear customs and get into the hands of my shop to complete the installation is killing me! Ugh!... |

Good question. My installer said that the 1M side skirts were definitely needed for the wider 1M front fenders to line up properly down low where they touch/butt-up against the side skirt. I had hoped that I would be able to keep my stock side skirts to save money, but he said that they did not line up properly with the 1M front fenders. My installer did not say if he would have to do anything for the stock rear quarters to line up with the 1M side skirts, but I will explicitly ask when I take delivery and let you know.

"Proper photos"??? I'm no photographer -- that's about as good as it gets! Ha! Just kidding...
Don't worry I'll definitely take plenty of pics once I get it home next week. Fingers crossed it will be sunny and dry when I pick it up Wednesday and for the remainder of next week through the weekend. Those were taken with my iPhone and it's always hit or miss it seems with me when I try to use my phone to take pics like that. The stars aligned for once for me and the final part cleared customs as was delivered today. I picked it up at the dealership and drove it out to the shop to the minimize the delays. Figured I'd take a few pics of the work in progress while I was there. |

I see rear gap on the side skirt. How bad is that?
Also, is the gap by the hood and the front quarter panel on the headlight normal or just being exsentuated by a shadow? |

That is the reason for the new delivery date of Wednesday. He said he can deal with it.
That gap is a shadow. The installer mentioned several times at how impressed he was with how well everything fit together and bolted right up. I said that they are all BMW OEM parts so I would hope so. Fenders & bumper are in place but still have to go through final fitting and proper gapping (or whatever that final adjustment process is called) to the doors, etc. |

Update:
Trying to make an event this weekend so I stopped by the shop and helped get my 135M buttoned up. There were a couple snags. Apparently the windshield washer plastic reservoir in the front right fender is shaped differently for a 1M vs. our stock piece. There was not sufficient clearance to secure the right M side marker. So we used a heat gun to reshape the stock reservoir until I can get the 1M version of the reservoir and get that installed. The 135 stock plastic underbelly panel that connects the 1M bumper splitter/chin to the plastic engine "skid plate" (plastic panel that has the "door" to remove to gain access to the oil pan drain plug) is different. I need to find that part number and order that part. Does anybody know (can provide a URL) of a 1M parts "explosion" diagram online that I can look at? The M side markers on the fenders don't light up for some reason. The harness plugged right in, so I don't know why they won't light up unless the bulb/LEDs whatever is in there are burned out??? I am by no stretch of the imagination electrically inclined, so any insight on what to check would be *greatly* appreciated! It is not a show-stopper, but I went through a TON of hassle to get those brackets I needed to secure them so having them work would be nice. The only other installation hassle was installing the side skirts, but that is only because I was not doing the 1M rear conversion at this time and to get a viable working solution now, he had to use my stock side skirts, cut and graft on (plastic work) the wider front section of the 1M side skirt and combine them into one piece for each side. He said it wasn't easy (time consuming), but still *much* cheaper then to tackle the rear quarters. They look good IMO. He said that he was not looking forward to ever having to do that again, so fingers crossed mine never get damaged or I will have to tackle the rear quarters and re-order stock 1M side skirts. No updated pictures yet because the new pieces need to be buffed out next week after I get back from Summit Point. Which at that point the car will need good detailing inside and out. After that and after it gets buffed and I can steal a nice Fall day THEN I will take it out for proper pics and post them. |

Looks good. I would like to see how the wide front fenders look compared to the stock rear fenders. Maybe after you are done, you can compile a list of part numbers for all of us that want to copy you! please!? ha

Here are some updated (hopefully better) pics. I'm no photographer and I used a digital camera this time instead of my iPhone. Just cleaned her up from this weekend's run. I still need to take it back to the shop for them to buff the newly painted parts. Then I think I have to wait a month before I can wax those parts I think they said.

That looks really good! How much wider track is the front from the rear now? Maybe you could measure from edge of tire to edge of tire? Im jealous! I want to do this to my car now. haha
Just a quick internets search and I found 135i front track: 58.3 Rear track: 59.6 1M Front Track: 60.7 Rear Track: 60.7 But Im guessing that is from edge of tire to edge of tire. It would be nice to to measure edge of fender to edge of fender. And maybe if you ran a square tire set up on the 135i with the M front end, they would be the same width. Either way, the car looks great man!

I don't have any easy way to accurately measure fender-to-fender without risking the tape measure possibly scratching my hood/fenders; however, with help I measured from outside tire shoulder to outside tire shoulder and with my current setup they measure:
Front: ~71" Rear: ~68" No spacers. I was actually surprised at that because to look at it the front-to-rear fenders look pretty square. Currently I'm running APEX ARC-8 wheels with 265/35/18 Toyo R1R tires front/rear. Front: 18x9.5 ET22 Rear: 18x9.5 ET62 I would have loved to been able to flare out my stock rear quarters to match, but maybe in the future after LSD and a few other things I still want to do to the car. Always need that next mod "carrot" dangling out there in front of me... |

i do think the 1m front is one of the sexiest fronts ever! Looks amaze with the wide sideskirts! did you put larger wheels on the front i think i read you wanted to do 265 all round? or is that photo stock wheels infront? Could you do a write up for some of us newbs what you have changed to make this happen.
