JB4 Freight Train
I just put my JB4 "stage 3" on last night and I am all
I had the JB4 on my 135 before I sold it and the chassis and suspension never seemed to handle it well. Everything seemed to squirm under hard acceleration. The 1M on the other hands just squats and goes. This is definitely how the car should have come from the factory. This has me drooling at the prospect later on down the road of RB upgraded turbos, catless DP's, and FMIC. Oh if only money grew on trees...... |

I was out last night comparing boost levels on maps 2,5 and 6 (using fuel gauge). I thought the winner would be the new aggressive map 5 but nooo... Map 2 and 5 was at least 2-3 psi lower than map 6. So for now its map 6 all the way
Have you changed any other settings to run 60/40 on map 6?

I wouldn't mind running an E85 mix to be on the safe side, but the closest station is 40 minutes away. I'm emailing Terry back and forth right now to make sure I'm not going to screw anything up by running this on a stock 1M.

A lot of people is driving with JB4 + E85 on otherwise stock cars with great results.
Just start mixing 80/20 and move up until you find the perfect balance But I am still interested in map 6 + E85 mixing. I have only used it on map 5.

I had my JB4 installed a couple of weeks ago and Im on map 0 because map 1 makes my car get into Limp Mode... as soon as I pass 4k revs it just chokes!!! Do I need to update the software that comes from a brand new JB4??? Ive been told that this sofftware works better with a 135i N54 and that it will give me trouble with my 1M....... I have a friend that has the exact same problem and he has already installed downpipes!!! |

I thought stock 1M should be using Map2? That's what Terry had me use (I had 94 octane tho, not sure if it mattered). Make sure you have the right settings picked in the software (There's 1M specific settings in the pull down menu)
Re: Map 6, Unless something changed, even with 94 octane, I couldn't run Map 6... I'd be careful and monitor if people are planning on jumping to Map 6. |
