washer fluid indicator???
went to the track and during a session the washer fluid indicator came on - despite not using the washer fluid and having it toped up (I think, I just picked up the car). Is this a problem with the car's computer or is there an other explanation for this???

If it continues to occur with full fluid you may have a bad sensor.

A bad sensor already? I hope not - I guess I should try to fill the reservoir, just to make sure. This might seem far fetched but would the heat of the engine cause the washer fluid to evaporate? |

I've not heard of anyone having that issue, I know I don't.

I've never heard of it happening before but, was just wondering - anyone else?
I'm actually thinking it's a sensor because, the warning seems to come and go - when I do a "check" for the car, it some times says low while other times it indicates that it's fine. |

I have had it trigger twice during an autocross. It was during a continuous turn where I was on and off the throttle pretty hardcore; I think it was just the fore-aft transfer coupled with the heavy roll that triggered the sensor.
What were you doing when it went off? Along the same lines: any way to tone down the warning signal? Man, the first time that went off I about went off course with soggy britches. |

I was on a "tighter" track when it went off - just coming out of a corner. I looked under the hood today (don't ask me why I didn't pop the hood at the track) and noticed that the washer cap popped off. Is it possible that fluid was lost out the top opening? Anyways - I filled up the reservoir a bit and will see what happens. I really hope that it's not a bad sensor. |
