Voice Commands for Phone

Is anyone else having problems using the voice commands for the phone? Half the time, it doesn't understand me, and then when it finally gets the number right, I can't figure out how to actually place the call. I've had the car less than 48 hours and I'm already frustrated! Thanks.

yeah, i got that down, but after i dial the number, it doesn't actually dial. do i have to press the phone button or what??

You can also say "menu" or "help" I belive and it will recite all of the commands you can use.

Gotta read that manual :biggrin:

Yeah, I figured it out. Funny thing though, I couldn't find anything about the phone in the manual. Thanks for the help!

This is one area I would love to see the diff of 08 and 09. They claim that 09 has upgraded this. Which year are you talking about. I wish it was able to be programmed... like Dragon Nat Speaking 10... another reason why I wish they had were able to do a docking of a cool notebook of your choice. Not going to happen any time soon I guess.

I don't like mine either. I have changed my name listing in my address book so I can call people faster...

You can have nicknames saved...then say them and it will call them.

Call Yoda!
Call my bookie!
Call my wookie!

haha good idea about the nicknames!

mine is an 09. i can't imagine the 08s are much worse than what i have...

If your system can download your contacts, voice control is easier. Just say phone book and the system asks "which name". Mine lists out as last name first and off I go.

Mine uploads my contacts but doesn't list the names like that. I can see the phonebook on the screen, but if I say phonebook then it tells me the phonebook is empty. Did you have to do anything special for this? Thanks.
