Long Crank but No Limp mode or CEL
I'm experiencing longer than usual crank time when the car is cold. I also notice the car shakes more violently than normal during crank, the shake usually comes when it finally turned over. However, I do not get into a limp mode, no power lost, no check engine light.
I notice a this longer than usual crank before my first covered oil change, and it's been 2 weeks since the service and it's still happening. What could it be? Ideas? TIA |

I figure as much... I just thought usually I'll get CEL or limp mode with the long crank... I guess there's a period of time of long crank then CEL/Limp mode?
O well... I guess I'm not THAT lucky to get away from the HPFP... |

After getting my HPFP replaced, my car has had long cranks every cold start since. So don't think this will resolve easily.

My car has been doing that for for months. Its also been misfiring on startup...but no codes. Took it to the dealer and left it there for three days while they did pressure checks. Go in the morning and the tech is standing there and he asks me to point out the noise. I start the car and he goes "aftermarket exhaust".
No Shit is an aftermarket exhaust. Wouldn't you have already known that if you did half of the checks you said you were doing? Sorry about the rant...but these dealers and these damn fuel pumps just kill me. |

I wouldnt comment with the give it two weeks... mine started that... one time I fired it up, and it sounded like it was running on one cylinder... turned it off and started it right back up and it was running fine.
After that it was long starts as long as 45 seconds of cranking but never did get the check engine or half power or any faults. After takign it back to my dealer a third time over probably 4mo for the long starts they just replaced it, and wah-lah, all is well now =) |

I've had occasional 4 sec or so cranks for around 5k miles now. It always run great once it cranks.
