Little birdie told me
Heard that BMW will have video that you can watch your car being built! Probably coming out late this year or early next year. Just a little more fun to track your car when you can watch it get painted or interior installed, etc....

That's funny becuase I was talking about something like this with a friend just last week. It wouldn't be all that difficult to implement a system that gathered snap shots of each VIN at certain places in the production process thereby allowing you to see you're car go through the different stages as its built. Toss it into a database and spit it back through the owners circle. I'm really surprised this hasn't been done already by another luxury manufacturer—or maybe it has and I just don't know about it.

Well I heard that it will be able to be pulled up by vin of course and you might even be able to get a copy of the video for the ultimate enthusiast. I heard it will only be a few videos though. Maybe like 4 stations?

I can see this, I mean Amazon.com will be doing the same thing when they are packaging your orders.
It would be nice to see the 1 being built. Although I have the "Ultimate Factories" episode of the Z4 being built. |
