Why would it? If the M3 LSD does it's job the E-diff won't get activated.

Another interesting question from where our speedometer reads from gearbox from Diff or from the wheels? If the signal comes from diff then it is another problem as it will read higher. |

Been there done this, there is no problem at all, speedo runs from the ABS sensors, the car runs and drives fine 100% better than the stock CRAP set up

whoa great thread!
I have read it all, but just want to confirm: if I put in an E9x M3 diff, I will also need the half-shafts right? But I could still use my existing 135i driveshaft? Anyone have any contacts for an E9x M3 diff? I wanted a wavetrac but can't seem to source one at a reasonable price, or they just wont ship. |

I got mine off ebay.de and am having it shipped to me. Have tried to find one in Australia and although there are M3 wrecks around, no-one will sell the rear subframe on its own or for less than $4,000. |

Just dont use DB Schenker. Terrible company!
I have had to nag them for the last fortnight to get them to organise the final delivery address and date. Customers just shouldn’t have to do this. It is quite evident that the culture at that place is one of complacency and they have no interest in delivering a better service to their clients. Finally organised it for Monday. Was hoping for today so I could go and have a look but that was too much to ask. |

I've said it before and I'll say it again: DB Shenker are ratshit and I'll never use them again for any reason. Liars and thieves.

I didnt have much choice. If I did I would have asked for anything but them. Charged me an an extra $400 in dubious fees but, and this is what really pissed me off, after paying them they couldn't be arsed giving me any information about the delivery.
Anyway, its finally here on Monday and hopefully in good order. |

Hey guys!
Im in the process of the same thing. but for the e92 335i. Got an absolute stonking deal on a 99.8% complete M3 subframe and suspension. Im going to be attempting to install the ENTIRE subframe, but with different rear springs (to match the eibach ones in the front of my 335i). I just need some of the perches, rubber mounts, covers for the springs and shocks. Other little things that I've found out are that if you cant find a M3 propshaft, one of the older e38 / e39 v8 (not M5) ones should match up (although the pre-installed bolts need hammer out and e92 M3 ones fitted). Since im putting in the whole frame but keeping the 335i rear brakes I will need to use a custom toe arm, but all the other arms fit. Hope some of that info is useful across the models? |
