Is that a new sub frame? or just freshly painted.

De-rusted and painted. Koni Yellows will be in tomorrow. M3 control arms and fresh toe links sitting around waiting.

Anyone else recently order a set of Swift springs 4x904r? Been told by one vendor they were discontinued. While my purchase with another vendor has been in limbo for a few days with no updates.

I did exactly what you just did last May. All 13 bushings, except i did M3 bushings. Big job, but well worth it! I got my Swift springs from Mod Bargins. Not sure if they still have but give them a try.

No worries! I bought a house, and need to furnish the whole thing. Plus some minor things here and there.

I swear I looked at their website last week and I wasn't able to add the springs to my cart, but now I could in theory. And Mod Bargains is about 40 bucks cheaper... So yeah I may call Cygnus Performance to get my order stopped if there are no updates, or especially if it hasn't shipped yet.

Edit: Mod Bargains charges for shipping but the other vendor did not, so it's only like 8 bucks cheaper.

If you haven't done the coolant flange, I would highly suggest this to anyone. I had a coolant leak and ended up being the coolant flange. The thing was in pieces when I pulled it off. I'm really surprised it was even hanging on.

BTW, I ordered multiple flanges for the N55 and most did not fit because of the oring. The boost monkey coolant flange fit great. Just put a little o ring lube on and slide it in with some force.

+1 to that. My coolant flange crumbled recently when I took it off. Not sure if my leak was from there or not, but I bought a new tube with an aluminum flange. Silicone o-ring lube is a must!

Without at least a quick revision to the toe the car can be almost unsafe to drive, heck I'd say straight up unsafe to drive. Even just grabbing your kid/spouse/neighbor/random stranger to hold the dumb end of a tape measure is better than nothing, and a set of toe plates are dirt cheap, or easy to make your own really....

And yeah, they do feel pretty nice when set up correctly

Obviously every car will be a little different, but does anybody know approximately how many turns on the tie rod to get toe back to stock alignment?

Better to stretch some parallel strings and measure from there to the wheel face and adjust to maybe 1/16th toe in.

There is more to it than that but its not rocket science.

Off the top of my head, I think it was said that three full turns out on both sides will get you to a point where you, probably, won't die on the way to the alignment shop....

But it's easy enough to search out the 9 zillion how to's on the install to find out for sure

I wasn't too worried cause I installed new tie rods at the same time, so pretty much just recentered all the things.

Need spring recommendations. Looks like swift 4x904R has been discontinued. Has anyone tried 4x905r on their 1er? Gonna call some places that may or may not have 4x904r in stock while hoping for the best

edit which springs have similar rates to that of Swifts?
double edit: Mod bargains seems to have delisted Swift's stuff
