found "sludge" on mag plug.

I changed my oil today, and found what looked like sludge but felt like anti seize. I have an ecs magnetic drain plug, the car has 28k miles and i change the oil at 7k intervals. I was just wondering if anyone thinks i should be worried. I also found a spot on my rear shock that looks like is rubbing, to me it looks like the dust cover covers that part and couldn't be the wheel or tire. Any thoughts ?

If you haven't disposed of or contaminated the oil from the change it would be best
to have the oil analyzed by Blackstone or a similar service.

Don't worry about the oil, do fix the rub on your damper.

the oil sludge thing, is probably microscopic metal particles that have accumulated and soaked up oil, making it look like sludge.

Second, your shock is rubbing on the spring most likely, and should be fixed asap.

I don't see how the rubbing could be anything other than the bolt for the sway bar end link.

Does the dust cover ride there when the suspension is at normal ride height?

That could be rubbing....

The sludge is just the magnetic plug doing its job.

Do you have different wheels than what came stock? I have seen wheels that are too wide or wheels with the incorrect offset rub in that exact same spot.

In regards to the drain plug, don't worry about it. Like said above it's just the drain plug doing its job and removing metal particles from the oil instead of letting them circulate.

I run 225/40 and 235/40 on stock wheels, I believe it's the boot rubbing on the shock during compression and extention because there isn't any rubbing on the boot itself.
