Just picked up my Le Mans B 135
Hi all,
New member of the 1 series club here For those of you that were following my story: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...=774788&page=3 Just drove 1000km round trip from Ottawa to Toronto(Oakville) and back to pick up my new ride. Le mans Blue 135i Manual Msport H/K premium sound & sirius radio premium pkg exec package Navigation ----------------------------- Drive back was amazing! Love the new car, a bit sad to see my old one go... really liked that little vw rabbit. I'm really enjoying the power and all the features. There are a few little things that I noticed a bit odd or quirky but no major complaints. Sport seats are awesome! The only thing I've had problems with is my shift from 1st to 2nd... seems to be very jerky and rough... like the car hesitates or lurches. from 2nd to 3rd its better, and from 3 to 4 to 5 to 6 is smooth with no issues. I probably just need to adjust to the new clutch/shifter. Any tips? Cheers |

Found I have to shift faster from first to second on mine because the revs seem to drop quite fast, that makes it smoother. Congrats I have a 2008 Lemans Blue 135i with every option except navigation!

thehalycon - A big congrats.....
It looks great, and the LMB is an awesome color. Mine is black interior, but otherwise the same. Enjoy, it's an awesome car, IMO.

First congrats on the new ride! As for the shifting... I think you are feeling the delay of the CDV. Most of us 6MT have removed the CDV(clutch delay valve)... CDV Delete/Replacement DIY http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=209440

Thanks for the congrats everyone! I plan to drive it year round, I think I'll keep it parked when the salt trucks are out & its crappy weather... Was able to get a set of winters off a member here... So I plan to put them on asap, as its supposed to freezing rain tonight. One small complaint I have is that the left air vent beside the wheel doesn't aim at my hand on the wheel...something I noticed right away and miss from my old car but its not a big deal. I'm really enjoying the iDrive functions and all the little goodies like the reverse sensors adaptive headlights, comfort access etc.. One question for all you idrive people, I recall during a test drive a few months back there was a way to show the Hp/ and torque numbers on the nav screen. I can't seem to find it, perhaps I have an older version? Oh yea I'm more and more impressed with the handling and performance each time I drive it... what a fun car. Will definitely try to keep this as long as I can. |

thanks for the headsup! I was thinking it may be related to this... Its good to know that the delay / shift from 1st to 2nd is a bit tricky. I thought I had forgotten how to drive lol. I went out with a co-worker today and let him test drive it. He was able to get smooth shifts right away, was kind of jealous actually!! he drives a 2007 gti and said that his shifts are very similar. He couldn't really explain what he was doing different but it was definitely smooth. I have found an improvement for me is to try and shift around 3000rpm from 1st to 2nd seems to help. I would like to try this CDV delete but I'm worried about the warranty. |

Nice choice on the color!
Almost all BMWs shift rough from first to second gear. Removing the CDV and adding a clutch stop will help this. I still experienced rough second engagement after doing this, though. I find it shifts best to second when bringing first gear to about 4,000 RPM and then shifting. Just ignore all the attention you'll get by doing it. |
