Please allow me to introduce myself
Hi all,
I just picked up a manual 2011 128i coupe this past weekend and I'm loving it so far. It was a one owner car with only 30k. It appears to have been optioned as a stripper model when ordered by the previous owner, which I'm fine with. I didn't want a car with all the bells and whistles. I do wish it had the projector headlights, but I'm hoping to rectify that in the near future as well as ditching the chrome trim. Here's how she sits now. Pardon the crappy cell phone picture. I'm coming from a 2002 Subaru WRX that spent the majority of it's life in Western Pennsylvania. It had 224k miles on at the time of trade in and it showed. Needless to say the 128i is a big improvement over that car, but I am going to miss it. Before the WRX I had a 1997 Honda prelude that I had done a manual swap on and then promptly totaled. I guess you could say I'm moving up the food chain. I've always been a lurker on the forums of whatever car I happen to own and I'm sure this time will be no different. I just wanted to introduce myself and say I look forward to lurking here. |

Welcome Jeb, you're much more loyal to your cars than I. I don't think I've owned a single car for more than 2 years!
While you're doing your lurking you might want to check out our new thread for first-time buyers, it's a work-in-progress but we're adding new info every day thus far. http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1285231 Glad to have you lurking!

Thanks for the welcomes everyone!
Esteban - I'm working on it. PA135i - Good to know. The best forums are the ones with lots of info as well as nice people. Skull V - It's always good to find people who have followed similar paths with the car's they've owned. Not too shabby, those cars do seem to run forever as long as you take care of them. Ric in RVA - I know, it is in really good condition. If I didn't know better I would have though it had even less than 30k miles on. On the interior it has the taupe leather with gloss black trim. Other than that the only other options seem to be the moonroof and heated seats. Matticus91 - I don't know if I'd call it loyalty or stubbornness I probably shouldn't have held on to the last two cars for as long as I did. That being said I am planning on having the 128i for a good while as well. Thanks, I actually stumbled upon that thread when I was doing research when I was starting my car hunt. There's a lot of good info in there. |
