Bought my wife an '11 135i...

My wife and I had been searching for a new vehicle for her for quite some time, and after looking at the 328i/335i Coupe, the Audi A5, the 650i and the 135i, we finally bit the bullet and bought this beauty yesterday:

Just two quick iPhone pics from yesterday, sorry for the poor quality. Some of you might know me from Detailing Bliss, so needless to say, she'll get a full detail on Saturday. I'll post some DSLR pics of the entire process, including afters of course.

The specs:

2011 BMW 135i
- Alpine White
- Lemon Boston Leather
- Convenience Package
- M Sport Package
- Premium Package
- 7-Speed double clutch transmission
- Heated front seats
- Satellite radio
- Harman Kardon surround sound

It was owned by an older gentlemen who had custom ordered it, then changed his mind after 7,000 miles and traded it for something else. It's absolutely mint!

Looking forward to being a member in this forum. I already bought the black kidneys, they'll go on this weekend also.

Thanks everyone. Absolutely thrilled with the car so far. And on top of it all, got a great deal on what is essentially a brand new car.

Quick question: salesman said we can put 89 in it when going on roadtrips, but to put 93 in it for around town. My initial thoughts were to always put 93 in it, but if that's not the case, can anyone confirm what the salesman said?

You can put 89 in it will engine power will decrease, 91 or higher will give you the advertised horsepower plus better engine response. Not mention the difference is less than $2 per fill up.

Thanks. I didn't think that anything but premium fuel wouldn't make sense, but just thought to ask.

Nice color combo by the way, Space Gray over Coral Red must looks spectacular in person. I'm sure I'll see you cruising around Austin as there aren't too many 135i around.

The only time I use 87 octane (OK for the 128i) is when the price spread between 87 and 93 exceeds about 12%. Otherwise, the better performance and fuel economy of 91/93 makes better economic sense. The numbers for the 135i favor premium over 89 even more as midgrade never seems to be fairly priced.

Tell your wife to enjoy her new ride!

I have a 2004.5 Dodge Ram 2500 that I bought brand new. She's got just a little over 90K miles on her now. Excellent vehicle, and since I'm obsessed with keeping vehicles clean, she looks brand new:

Will I be driving the 135i? Sure, when my wife lets me

i normally go long in brent crude oil future contracts when the spread between 91 and 93 goes below 10%. then i take those profits and fill my car up... (only on road trips of course)

Gotta say although I'm sure your truck can haul around cool toys (like bikes, boats) and help you do all kinds of manly work I think you're gonna lose to your woman in a drag race

I'd be okay with that though. Good buy and enjoy

Yes, it's most certainly a little quicker than my 3/4 ton diesel.

Full detail starts tomorrow afternoon, should be done by around lunch on Saturday. I'll have a full write up for everyone including some nice interior shots.

Congrats, she's a beaut. Looks fully loaded as well. The savings must have been really great over going new. About as close to "bought it from a little old lady who only drove it on Sundays" as it gets. Nice deal, nice move.

I ordered a 2012 new in AW and black leather with 6MT, M-Sport & Premium packages, and Harmon Kardon surround system. Paid full MSRP but got $2,000 off with credits and an old Dodge Neon trade-in. Dollars and sense bang for the buck I can't touch what you found but didn't do too bad for a new custom order considering where I live and that there's only one Bimmer dealer On Oauh. The used market is pretty thin out here anyway. Another plus you got is immediate gratification. I ordered mine around August 31st and am still waiting.

You said your pics were from a cell phone, but I think they came out great. Very nice shots and the resolution is very good. Looking forward to seeing more of your wife's new ride. She's a lucky lady.

Almost forgot, I'm thinking of getting the black kidneys as well. They should look awesome with the shadowline trim. Would love to see some pics of yours to help me in that direction.
