Group Buy for Huper-Optik Tint
Guys;
For anyone that is interested in Huper-Optik tint, myself & itznin are trying to recruit 3 other members for a group buy. The tint installer is in Manhattan & promised that if I brought him 5 cars, he would do each all the way around for $360 apiece. This is by far the BEST deal around for this quality of tint....and for those of you unfamilar with this product you can view a demonstration of its heat-shielding qualities here: http://www.huperoptikusa.com The tint installer has been highly recommended ( http://www.theartoftint.com) and this guy also tinted zero619's E90. Please respond to this thread if you are interested or you could send me a PM. Thanks! R.R. |

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...&postcount=432 In addition to RichRegs post above the dealer is in Manhattan M-F and does installs for local dealerships. This is the ONLY authorized HuperOptik installer in NYC and stocks the tint in all of the shades, 50%, 40%, etc. If M-F in Manhattan is no good for you, he is in Brooklyn on Saturdays. All the cars don't have to be done on the same day, as long as we have 5 who are signed up to go and leave a deposit of some sort we will be locked into the group buy deal. PM me or RichReg if you have any questions. |

360 for this? What's the benefit? It's just a tint isn't it? My local installer here use Luxxxx (forgot the name but it starts with "Lu") and I got mine installed for $200 with lifetime warranty. 360 is a bit steep...

$360 is the best deal I ever seen for this type of install. If you go by yourself without a group rate it will run you near $450 installed. |

I just looked up a local window tinter here in Miami and found a tint shop that will install the Huper-Optik and they have it computer-cut for $325. Then I went online to do a little research and they have a 15% off coupon online. I'm not sure if the 15% off will work, but I printed it out and I'm going to take it with me when I have my tints installed.
I'm sure $360 is a great price for NY, but luckily they do it cheaper down here. If anyone is interested, it's called Solar Tint in South Miami. I can get you more info if necessary. After reading some of these posts, I did some more searching online and found some demo videos. I'm pretty impressed and am going to have it installed this weekend. I feel bad that my car is absolutely burning up inside when I leave for lunch and from one of the videos I saw, it was more than a 20 degree difference between two identical Mercedes's, one with Huper-Optik and one without. I think it's definately worth it. |

If this link doesn't work, type: huper optik window film in Google and Glas-tint llc should should come up first. Then click on the video under automotive on the right side of the screen. There are three interviews linked together from the local news and what appears to be a local Arizona automotive show where a guy from a window tint place in Arizona uses some sort of butane-meter to measure the heat on the other side of the glass. I was still questioning the actual amount of heat difference when the car is parked, and on the third section of the video, they have thermometers in two parked cars. |

Wow! I was feeling bad about paying over $300 for tints, but now I feel like I'm getting a bargain! $320 - 15% = $272...not bad.
(The 15% discount is offered on the tint shop's website) |

From reading other posts, apparently metallic tints will interfere with Comfort Access. Another reason to get Huper Optik. I got a quote for $500 here in the Northern Viriginia area to install HO. Even with a group buy, the installer said he wouldn't come down on price.

This is UNCONFIRMED.... just what I heard. Rich will be able to comment more on this. But in any event this is why the group buy is on delay at the moment. We are currently looking into the solar guard alternative, but also as a group buy. We will keep you posted as to what we find out about both Huper and Solar Guard (pricing, locations, options, etc.) |

As itznin said, this is unconfirmed but, the guy @ Monster Coatings that applied my clear-protective covering made some comments abot Huper-Optik that made us pause a bit.
Something about the fact that the 'ceramic' part of the tint isn't really in the tint at all. He claimed that Huper is still a metallic tint but when its pressed out, they use ceramic rollers. Basically meaning that ceramics are used in the production process, but not in the final product. I'm not sure if this means that it will still have an effect on radio reception or not, this is just what we heard. If anyone has any other insight as to what this could or could not mean, please feel free. In the meantime, we have decided that Solar-Gard may be the better alternative for a group-buy because of pricing mostly. |

We are currently looking into dealers and will post the prices, etc as soon as we can. We are looking into this new carbon 3M film that a local dealer got, which is supposed to be a thousand times better than the solar guard. We should have more information on that after this weekend, as the dealer just got his first roll of the film. |
